Are all motorbike fasteners metric?
The majority of modern motorcycles manufactured outside of the United States use metric fasteners, and these are the fasteners you will find available on our website.
Important: Metric and imperial fasteners are not interchangeable. Never attempt to install a metric nut or bolt into a thread designed for an imperial fastener, as this will cause damage to the thread.
How do I measure the correct bolt size for my bike?
You will need three measurements to identify the correct bolt. We recommend using digital vernier calipers and a thread gauge tool for accuracy.
Measure from the outside of the thread on one side of the bolt to the outside of the thread on the opposite side. A bolt measuring 10mm across is referred to as M10.
The thread pitch is the distance between one thread crest and the next. A thread pitch of 1.25mm means there is exactly 1.25 millimetres between each successive thread.
Measure from the underside of the bolt head to the tip of the bolt. Do not include the head itself in this measurement.
Put all three measurements together to get the full bolt specification.
M10 (1.25mm) x 55mmIf you are unsure about the bolt size you need, send us a message at info@avantmotodesign.com and we will help you identify the correct part.
What grade of titanium do you use?
All of our fasteners are manufactured from Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V titanium - the same aerospace-grade alloy used in MotoGP and World Superbike racing. Grade 5 offers a tensile strength of approximately 900 MPa, is 40% lighter than steel, and is completely corrosion-proof.
What colours are available?
Titanium fasteners are available in three PVD-coated finishes: raw, bronze and black.
Aluminium parts come in a wider range of anodised finishes: black, gunmetal, silver, gold, green, orange, red and blue.
Titanium is finished by PVD coating; aluminium is anodised, which is what allows the broader range of colours.
Are titanium bolts safe for brake calipers?
Absolutely. Grade 5 titanium has a higher strength-to-weight ratio than the steel bolts they replace. Titanium caliper bolts are widely used in MotoGP, BSB, and World Superbike. Always torque to manufacturer specification and use threadlock where specified.
How much does delivery cost?
UK orders over 50 pounds qualify for free standard delivery. Orders below that are shipped via Royal Mail with tracking. International delivery is available - rates are calculated at checkout based on your location.
How long will my order take to arrive?
UK: Orders are typically dispatched within 1-2 working days. Royal Mail delivery is usually 2-3 working days after dispatch.
International: Delivery times vary by destination, typically 5-10 working days. Customs delays may apply depending on your country.
Can I return or exchange a product?
Yes. If the product is unused and in its original packaging, we accept returns within 30 days of delivery. Contact us at info@avantmotodesign.com before returning any items.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay. All transactions are processed securely through Shopify Payments.
Do I need any special tools to fit titanium bolts?
No special tools are required. Our titanium fasteners use the same hex and socket head profiles as OEM bolts. We recommend using a calibrated torque wrench for all safety-critical fasteners.
Should I use threadlock on titanium bolts?
Follow your OEM service manual guidance. We recommend medium-strength threadlock (such as Loctite 243) for brake caliper bolts and any other safety-critical applications.
Will titanium bolts seize or gall?
Titanium can be prone to galling if installed dry. We recommend applying a thin layer of copper-based anti-seize compound to the threads when installing into aluminium or steel components. This is standard practice in professional motorsport.
